29 unika broscher visas tillsammans med fotografier och film i utställningen ALLA.

Är det möjligt att ifrågasätta fördomar och främlingsfientlighet genom smycken? Projektet ALLA, som premiärvisas på Röhsska museet, är initierat och sammanställt av smyckekonstnärerna Hanna Hedman och Rut-Malin Barklund.

Yesterday, Thursday Nov 10 was the opening day for Gallery Hnoss' grand exhibition The Ring - Jewel Forever at the Estonian Museum of Applied Art and Design in Tallinn. Busy Friday 2 - The Ring, jewel for ever

Galleri Hnoss arrangerade ett internationellt heldagsseminarium The ring - Jewel for ever fredag 9 september. 160 deltagare samlades först i Bio Capitols lokaler för att lyssna på föreläsningar av Anna Schetelich från Galerie OONA, Tyskland, professor Otto Kunzli, Tyskland och Manuel Vilhena smyckekonstnär, Portugal. Moderator var Love Jönsson, konsthantverks- och designkritiker samt gästlärare på HDK, Göteborgs universitet.

Dagen var helt tillägnad ringen, detta vårt viktigaste smycke. Utställningen i galleriet följer samma tema som seminariet, med ringar av över hundra internationellt verksamma, tidigare utställare i galleriet. Hela utställningen kommer sedan att turnera internationellt.

Den markerar också slutet för galleriet i sin fysiska form. Hädanefter kommer Hnoss verksamhet att ta sig andra uttryck, men med samma inriktning - samtida internationell smyckekonst.

Gallery Hnoss staged an international seminar Friday, September 9; The ring - Jewel for ever. 160 participants first gathered in Bio Capitol's facilities for listening to lectures by Anna Schetelich from Galerie Oona, Germany, Professor Otto Kunzli, Germany, and Manuel Vilhena, jewelry artist, Portugal. The moderator was Love Jönsson, craft and design critic and guest lecturer at HDK, Gothenburg University.

The day was completely dedicated to the ring, our most important piece of jewelry. The exhibition in the gallery follows the same theme as the seminar, with rings of over a hundred internationally active,previous exhibitors in the gallery. The entire exhibition will tour internationally.

It also marks the end of the gallery in their physical form. From this onwards Hnoss activities will take other forms, but with the same focus - international contemporary jewelry art.

The Ring - Jewel for ever; exhibition and seminar 9/9

The ring, our beloved piece of jewelry, can be so full of different meanings.

September 9 2011 Gallery Hnoss organize a large exhibition and a seminar with the ring as a theme: The Ring – jewel forever. The gallery invited all its previous exhibitors to create a ring just for this exhibition. The interest to take part is overwhelming, with over 100 rings from the same number of jewelry artists. The exhibition will later tour the Nordic countries, starting in Tallinn in the autumn.

In a seminar practitioners and theorists will share their knowledge and give personal interpretations of our most used piece of jewelry. Welcome!

Hnoss are proud to present the lecturers: Anna Schetelich from Galerie OONA, Germany, Professor Otto Künzli, Germany and Manuel Vilhena, Jewellery Artist, Portugal. Moderator for the Seminar is Love Jönsson, craft and design critic, and guest lecturer at School of Design and Crafts, University of Gothenburg

With the exhibition and seminar Gallery Hnoss want to manifest that their activities will change from now on. After this grand gathering they will leave the gallery space and work in other ways in the future.

Mikiko Minewaki nästa utställare på Hnoss

Vi är glada att ha japanska smyckekonstnären Mikiko Minewaki som gäst på Konstepidemin och Galleri hnoss. Imorgon tisdag 3 maj håller hon en öppen föreläsning om sitt arbete i Gröna Rummet kl 18. Fri entré, välkomna! (Hnoss arrangerar i samarbete med HDK, Göteborgs Universitet.)

Mikiko säger om sitt arbete:

We are happy to have Japanese jewellery artist Mikiko Minewaki visiting Konstepidemin and Hnoss Gallery. Tomorrow Tuesday May 3 she gives an open lecture about her work at Gröna rummet at 6pm. Welcome! (Hnoss in cooperation with HDK, Gothenburg University)

Välkommen på Vernissagelördag!

Välkommen till månadens Vernissagelördag 9 april kl 12 - 16: en heldag med öppen påskverkstad för alla åldrar, poesiläsning, bilder i Möjligheternas rum och chans att besöka en målares ateljé. Sista helgen för Jenny Klemmings utställning Land pieces på Galleri hnoss, t.o.m. 6/3

"Smycken har, traditionellt sett, en särskild ställning som betydelsefulla bärare av personliga minnen och social status. De har alltid behandlats med försiktighet. Jag tycker om tanken på att det kan tappas, hittas, göras om, ärvas och bäras under ett helt liv – att smycket, i princip, är odödligt med ett livsspann längre än och helt skilt från mitt."

Jenny Klemming är född och uppvuxen i Malmö. 2010 tog hon sin masterexamen i smyckekonst vid HDK. Samma år blev hon utsedd till Carl Larsson-stipendiat och fick även Galerie Marzee´s International Graduation Prize. Numera bor och arbetar hon som smyckekonstnär i Mariestad.

Last weekens for Jenny Klemming's exhibition Land pieces at hnoss Gallery, until 6/3.

"Jewellery pieces have a tradition of being precious personal carriers of memory and social status. They have therefore been handled with care. I like the thought of a jewel being lost, found, re-made, inherited and worn during a lifetime – that the piece of jewellery has a life span longer and separate from mine. "


Jenny Klemming grew up in Malmö. 2010 she graduated from HDK, Göteborg, MfA. She is already recognized in Sweden as well as internationallt. At present she lives and work as a jewellery artist in Mariestad.

Klara Brynge på Galleri hnoss

Galleri hnoss ställer ut svenska smyckekonstnären Klara Brynge. Smyckekonst bortom trenderna visas t.o.m. 19/12. Klara Brynge är född i Örebro 1980 och utbildad smyckekonstnär på HDK i Göteborg. 

Klara Brynges projekt To Sea Yonder är sprunget ur hennes examensarbete på HDK. Med denna serie smycken har hon rönt stor framgång på välrenommerade gallerier i Europa och Asien. 2009 tilldelades hon det prestigefyllda Eric Ericson-stipendiet och i år fick hon ett av konstnärsnämndens eftertraktade arbetsstipendium.

Klara arbetar utforskande, medan processer fortfarande pågår. Hur produkten ser ut i slutändan är inte det viktigaste. Arbetet skall gynna konceptet och känslan mer än det estetiska uttrycket.

Gallery Hnoss shows the Swedish jewellery artist Klara Brynge. The exhibition runs until December 19

"I work with jewellery as a drawing. I draw three-dimensional lines and mimic the motion of surface and materials."

The series To Sea Yoder was previous shown at prestigious galleries in Europe and Asia. Klara was awarded the 2009 Eric Ericson scholarship and this year a grant from the Swedish Arts Grants Committee.

Klara Brynge explains her jewellery as a space defined by what it is surrounded by. By reshaping the inelastic metal plate she moves in a no man's land where anything can happen. Explores and dare to trust where the process leads her. By knowing the tradition but choosing to disrespect it, she investigates what is possible to do with smithery today.

One reason for Klara Brynges success is that she unreservedly stays away from trends in the art world. She asks what is jewellery art for me and choose to be true to herself.

Galleri hnoss: Alexander Blank

Den tyske smyckekonstnären Alexander Blanks smycken är humoristiska med en allvarlig underton. Galleri Hnoss visar tre serier broscher: Evil Ed & Friends, Shields och Tank.

Evil Ed & Friends består av 13 personliga fantasidjur utskurna i hårt skummaterial. Dessa djur som i naturen anses vara relativt harmlösa har en dold agenda som är allt annat än trevlig. De är alla individer och utstrålar olika känslor, men grodan Evil Ed är den ende som har seende ögon. Han är den självklare ledaren över denna samling illasinnade troféer.

Shields kommenterar sambandet mellan livsstilar och varumärken. Broscherna är formade som transparanta sköldar. Alexander Blank kommenterar kommersialiseringen av den moderna människans identitet. Livsstilen man köper sig och varumärkena man gömmer sig bakom.



Serien Tank består av små stridsvagnar i miniatyr, klädda i blommigt bomullstyg. Tyget är typiskt för en viss sorts sängkläder, en symbol för det trygga hemmet i kontrast till krigsfordonet. Broscherna åskådliggör det tvetydiga i att den privilegierade världen främst upplever krig från tv-soffan.

The German jewellery artist Alexander Blanks duplicitous jewellery is humorous with a serious undertone, and highlights various phenomena of our times. On Gallery Hnoss we have the honor to show three series of brooches: Evil Ed & Friends, Shields, and Tank.

Evil Ed & Friends consists of 13 personal fantasies in the form of animal heads carved out of rigid foam. These animals that to their nature is considered to be relatively harmless have an hidden agenda that is anything but pleasant. They are all individuals and exude different emotions, but the frog Evil Ed is the only one who has eyes to see. He is the obvious protagonist of this collection of mischievous trophies.

Shields is a commentary on the relationship between lifestyles and brands. The brooches are formed as transparent shields, and alludes to a common type of family arms, dating back to medieval times. Based on these emblems Alexander Blank wants to highlight the problems behind the commercialization of the modern human identity. The lifestyle you can buy and the brands you can hide behind.

Tank series consists of tanks in miniature, dressed in a floral cotton fabric. The fabric is typical for a certain type of bed linen and symbolizes the security of home in contrast to the obvious symbol of war that is the tank. The brooches illustrate the ambiguity in the fact that the privileged world today primarily experiences war in a sofa in front of the TV.
